Here, at Skynix, we follow the news, share them with our readers and customers. Now it is time to tell about Magento 2.4.2 release all the e-commerce world is discussing.
On the 27th of March 2021, a new updated Magento 2.4.2 has arrived. Abobe team has fixed about 280 bugs existing in Magento 2.4.1 release. The main focuses are on security and vulnerabilities prevention, improving performance, and providing enhanced merchant tools to maintain their businesses.
Here are the core enhancements you need to pay attention to:
-Cart and checkout
Customers no longer face lost cart content issues while switching from one store to another in a different domain. Moreover, now clients can select multiple shipping methods with Multiple Addresses. Magento team has fixed the bug with the displayed cart’s item subtotal and the “emptied shopping cart” bug when users reset their passwords.
-Payment methods
Magento 2.4.2 includes a fixed duplicated orders issue when the customer tried to proceed with PayPal Express. Another major update is that guest users can place PayPal orders. Earlier, there was a bug with the order being processed successfully on PayPal, and at the same time, the order creation in Magento did not happen.
The PayPal module and Klarna dependency are gone now.
-Security enhancements
Adobe team was seriously concerned about potential vulnerabilities resulting in even a slight chance for the attacker to exploit access to customer’s information or take over admin sessions. A decent work happened here, and as a result, about 35 improvements are present in the release helping to prevent any code execution and cross-site scripting vulnerabilities.
-Platform enhancements
Elasticsearch 7.9.x, Varnish 6.4, and Redis 6.x are now supported. Moreover, Magento 2.4.2 is now compatible with Composer 2.x. It is serious, as you have to keep it in mind since Composer 1.x will reach no longer supported status soon.
-Adobe Stock Integration
In the release, the new Version 2.1.1 of Adobe Stock Integration is present.
